Fun evening

Last night I sat with our friend at a gaming table in the casino and he played blackjack. It looked like so much fun. I'm not sure I could play fast enough and not get flustered when trying to decide whether or not to take another card. The chip pile goes down so fast and I don't think I could tune out the other players and just make decisions on my own hand. I think I'll stick to the anonymity of the slot machine. They have nickle and penny machines to play. I can make a $20 bill last a long time at one of those machines.

We attended a banquet put on by one of our floor covering manufacturers. Oh my goodness did they have a lot of good food. We ate beef ribs, corn on the cob, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and so on. I ate a lot. Then Elvis made an appearance! This Elvis impersonator was really good. He had a nice voice. We got home really late. About 4 this morning I thought I was going to be sick. I came out and laid on the couch and after about an hour it passed and I went back to sleep. We have to take dd to airport this afternoon and I did not want to have to ride in the car if I was nauseated. That would not have been fun.

So, as soon as dh gets the dog poop cleaned off the bottom of my surgical boot, I will get my self into them and we can be off. Yep, stepped in the stuff at midnight last night. Sheesh.

Longing to wear regular things

We had a great day yesterday. We drove to Michigan City and went to the outlet mall. I went to Geoffrey Beene and loaded clothes into the dressing room. I knew that once I took off these cumbersome surgical boots I didn't want to have to get dressed again to pick out more things. I was at this store a long time. Stacy and my niece visited all over the place and I was still in that one store! I got a couple of good buys. I'm pretty happy with my purchases. I got a very comfy jogging suit. Dh doesn't like to see me in jogging suits. He thinks they make me look frumpy. Oh well, it is comfy and I'm tired of rotating between the same two pair of jeans because my work slacks wont go over these boots. I have caved and worn my work pants a few times but I have to tuck them into my boots and then I feel like my surgical boots are that much more obvious. Not that you can miss them when I wear jeans but I guess in my mind it looks better. I wore narrow leg pants that had to be tucked into my boots when we went to the casino last evening and I felt like I had on riding crops. Ugh.

Give Some Love

I have found the nicest site to display affection to those I care about. I am not being paid to write about them, I just found this site to be so cool and I thought I should share it. MeadowOfRoses.com is a different way to send a message to one you care about. Be sure to check them out. Valentines Day is approaching.

Friends

A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift. A friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift. A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy, and grace. And makes the whole world we live in a better and happier place.- Jean Kyler McManus -

Appendicitis Strikes

just wanted to give a heads up that Angie's son Clint was taken to the hospital with appendicitis and had surgery. I am giving Angie a big hug and lots of prayers. She says he is getting along fine. Angie is another postie at PayPerPost.

Is Gateway Good?

Ok, because I have been writing advertising posts for PayPerPost I have earned over $500.00. I am saving to buy a laptop. I see that there is a new windows package out there. I think it was called Vista. I'll check on the name later. I just hope that in a few months when I have the money saved, they have all the bugs worked out of the new browser because it is not easy for me to learn new ways. I only have so much time to get things done and I am impatient. If anyone has any recommendations on laptops, let me know. I am leaning towards a Gateway that I saw at BestBuy. A gal who I chat with online says they have really improved their customer service vs Dell who is horrible to get ahold of when you have a problem. I have to be able to get help. The only tech in this area that will come to my home business charges $60 and then so much per hour over that. I don't know if that is reasonable. It is probably fair but I don't want to lay out money if I can get a good laptop with great customer service.

Night at the Museum

Last night we went to see Night at the Museum at the theater. It was a nice family type movie. Although, a few 5 year olds might have trouble sleeping in their own bed after seeing the dinosaur come after someone. I don't usually care for Ben Stiller. I don't know why. I do enjoy watching Owen Wilson tho. This movie makes me want to brush up on my history. I couldn't even remember what time frame Teddy Roosevelt was president. He was dressed in a uniform in the movie. I need to find out what uniform it was. It said USV on the lapel. I never thought about who Attila the Hun was. He was a very mean man. Lots of things to check out.
