Live Virtually

Have you heard of the 3-D video game called Second Life? Please comment and tell me if you have played it and like it. Is it easy to figure out?

It is a virtual world where you can set up your own world and do everything. Build a house, be an entrepreneur or anything you can imagine is at your disposal. I have been reading in the National Federation of Independent Business magazine that business are jumping on the band wagon and incorporating their names into the virtual world. Marketers like American Apparel, tech companies like Dell and now such traditional brands as GM and Toyota are being attracted by the virtual game. In the game, a Toyota Scion costs $2.00. LOL

Second Life

Have you ever heard of Second Life? Second Life is an Internet-based virtual world. Users are able to interact with each other through motional avatars. Many users working the project provide the advanced level of a social network. As the network grows it is called a metaverse (as in universe). Users, or what individuals call residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, create and trade items (virtual property) and services from one another. This fun phenomenon came to light via mainstream news media in late 2006 and early 2007. Developed by Linden Lab,it is a downloadable client program. Providing hours of fun, it reminds me of Sims, another virtual world popular in the late 90's to early 2000 when computers were a lot slower and not as accessible to the masses as they are today. Read more about how it works and how many are Second Life.
