I Can See You

I have wondered how professors knew if you were cheating on an exam if you took your classes via the Internet. I think that most of the time you would be required to go to a specific location and take an exam. I know that is the way our daughter takes her exams. She has to drive to a particular university at a specific time to take a test.

A news piece at CNN online, talks about how some students think it is inconvenient to travel to take a test. They feel it defeats the purpose of getting a degree online. The way of handling this in the future might be a new technology that places a camera inside students' homes. Read the article and tell me what you think. Would you allow a camera to be used in your home for this purpose?

Information for You

Whether your computer is for personal use or for work, it is important to keep up with the latest technology. Geeks are Sexy is a great website for information that can help your computer experience become better and help you avoid any pitfalls already experienced by the authors or people they have come across as they research and use their own computers. They even offer product reviews on products not related to computers such as this LCD TV set

Significant features of the site are the reviews on various products. It is helpful before purchasing hardware or software to see if other users have liked the product. If they didn't like a product you can find out why and evaluate it for yourself. Especially helpful are the articles that talk about many things like hardware types specifically and different types of software. I have already found some useful information at Geeks are Sexy.

Did you know that a simple USB key, and even an iPod, could easily be used to steal data or to introduce viruses and other nasties to your network? Scan your network for usb related security risks is a problem that I hadn't considered and I really appreciate it being brought to my attention. I am ready to get better security software after reading how easy it is to get into a huge mess. The software recommended is used by the author and sounds very easy to use.

Enjoy this great site.

Lasik Eye Surgery

I had lasik eye surgery 6 years ago. I have never done anything that made such a drastic quality in my life as much as this surgery has. I love being able to see the alarm clock when I open my eyes. I love not having to wear glasses that fog up. No glasses sliding down my nose! I trusted my optometrist to direct me to the best eye surgeon available for my surgery. This was 6 years ago. Lasik eye surgery is safer and more predictable now than it was even then and I had no fear of having it done. Lasik eye surgery success and satisfaction has improved because of improved technology, refined techniques, new procedures, and better patient selection. Not everyone is a candidate for this surgery. I was told I might have problems with my eyes being dry but I never have. This might be attributed to the fact that I drink a lot of water. I think, because I was well informed, I didn't have any surprises with this surgery. I love it.

Science and Technology Shared

We have seen how things have taken off on the web. Wouldn't it be fun to be one of the first to take part on a new website? Sci-Edge is a social networking site for science hobbyists, technology and gadget geeks, and science fiction fans. It will be so much fun for people who are interested in these areas to have somewhere to go to talk to others with the same fascination. I love my Mom's website because I get tips on cleaning products and new recipes. The same will hold true for this new site. People will talk about conventions and shows. They might offer suggestions for a science fair project. Science fiction buffs can talk about that latest movie or book they were wild about. Members can also make money by blogging and posting links. The possiblities are endless. They will also have a quiz board, games, polls and chats. The site is new so there isn't much there yet. Be a part of this fun venture. It's free and the website looks awesome. This post is sponsored by Sci-Edge.

what to choose

I have always thought I wanted a laptop. Now I'm not sure. I am trying to check out Blackberries and such. It is all so confusing. I just want something small that I can do online stuff with.
