Is It Ok To Spy on Citizens?

Heads up United States Citizens. I just read a post on Eileen's blog, Endangered Species. It has me scared. Our rights are being taken away from us little by little. What are we going to do about it?

Spying on US Citizens gets a go ahead

Fantasia, the American Idol winner, was cast in The Color Purple on Broadway. She had to prove herself to some tough critics. She was determined to be the best she could be and show off her stuff. Fantasia has received rave reviews and helped the ticket sales on Broadway. She maintains a grueling schedule. HP Money Maker

On Saturday I decided it was time to call Hewlett Packard and find out why the screen on my laptop is not giving me a clear picture. I hate to give up my laptop so I was putting off doing anything about the problem. When the screen started to fade, I thought it was time. I called HP since it is under the manufacturer’s warranty. I have only had the laptop since January 2007. After taking me through 45 minutes worth of tests, the technician was transferring me to the service department where I would be issued a box to return the laptop. We got DISCONNECTED! Grrr. I called back and, of course, they couldn't connect me to the same technician. I thought I was going to have to start all over. I was using minutes on my cell phone. However, this technician had me hook up my desktop computer monitor to my laptop and tell him how the picture looked. It looked great. He said ok and got the information to send me a box. He said that when I sent in my laptop to not expect it back for a few months. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I paid $139.99 to get another year added to the manufacturer’s warranty on my laptop, I would get my laptop back in 9 to 10 days. Does this sound right? I paid the $139.99 because I like to sit in the family room and use my laptop. I don't want to be stuck at my desktop computer for two months. Has anyone had this same experience? After the first year manufacturer's warranty expires I have the warranty that I bought when I purchased the laptop. I didn't need the second year manufacturer's warranty.

Pressure Washing

Yesterday, I planned to pull weeds until the rain prevented that from happening. We need the rain so I won't complain. I went out on the front porch to drink a cup of coffee and noticed how dirty the railing was. I got a wet rag and began scrubbing. I jammed my finger and broke my fingernail back into the nail bed. It hurt like heck. I decided it was time to soak my artificial nails off so that couldn't happen again. I just about screamed when I soaked that finger in the polish remover solution.

We have a pressure washer that makes washing the siding and railing a much easier job. I will be using that next time. We joke in our house that the pressure washer is addictive. Once you start cleaning something, it looks so good you go on to the next area. It can go on for days until you try cleaning at the neighbors and you realize you've gone a bit too far! LOL

Savvy Shopper

A friend of mine has supper good luck at finding bargains. She saw where old luggage was used as an end table and decided that she would do that. She visited an antique mall where there were tons of booths and found just the type of old luggage she was looking for. It was selling for $12.00 for 3 pieces! It makes the cutest end table and is great for storage.

I thought I would look for some old luggage. I found some great looking old luggage. I was at an antique store in Oxford, Ohio. The luggage was marked $35.00 for each piece. I will keep looking!
