Last night's rain was the weirdest thing. We could look out the west windows of our sunroom and see the rain pouring down. When we looked out the north windows, it wasn't raining at all! It was so strange looking.

Elsie killed a baby bunny last night. I think she tries to play with them but she is rough. Her jaws are very strong. When she plays with me I can feel the strength as she tries to bend my finger while playing. The poor bunny went into spasms and started doing backflips across the yard. I had never seen such a thing. Unfortunately it died. It was an eerie feeling to watch something breath it's last breath. The poor thing.

I think I backed up my database on my own domain blog. I don't know how to tell if it worked. I'll probably be searching all day to find information. Ugh. If anyone uses iPower as their host and has their domain there AND would be willing to help me, I sure would appreciate some help.

All the snowbirds have arrived back home from their winter down south. I've been hearing some real horror stories about the places they stayed. I don't know why they don't buy something affordable instead of renting. They should check the Florida Real Estate Directory and find a place they can call their own. The directory is free and contains over 20 areas to check out. It is such an easy site to use. Our favorite area in Florida is Fort Myers. I clicked on Fort Myers and it listed so many real estate companies that want me to use them to find a place to buy in Florida. It was fun to check out my dream place on the water.

I have always been interested in different cultures. I find that the different foods are fabulous. The deep rich flavor of the sauces is so different than anything I can come up with in my kitchen. I suppose I don't know how to use just the right amount of curry or marjoram that I suspect is in the oriental dishes I have tried.

I love the east coast. When we visited New Jersey, we discovered a beautiful coastline that was much different than the ones we were used to. I would love to return for another visit. I would like to visit Boston. There is so much history to explore there. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed the history of our country until we traveled through Gettysburg. It was amazing.

I spend so much time at my job that I feel like I am behind on what is happening in the world. Owning your own business has many advantages. I can do my laundry while waiting for a customer to walk into our store. I can pick and choose the products we sell. On the downside, I am always working. In the evening, I work on price lists and updates. I make fewer mistakes when the phone isn't interrupting me. I rarely watch the national news to know what is going on from day to day.

Hubby goes fishing in southern Indiana at least once a year and more if possible. The lakes there are old coal strip mines. They have been reclaimed and are wonderful fishing spots. They contain lots of bass and what hubby fishes for, bluegill.

The area is very grassy and apparently is full of ticks. A good friend and fishing buddy of hubby's got bit by a tick and spent a week in the hospital.

Does anyone know if there is a repellent for ticks?

There is going to be a new addition to our family. My sister and her family are getting a Puggle. That is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle. They are trying to think of a name for their new little girl. Check out this adorable baby!

Should we just give up on something we love? Fans have taken to signing petitions to urge J.K. Rowlings, the author of the Harry Potter books, to continue writing the popular books. She admitted she could "never say never" to more books. The "Save Harry!" petition calls on Rowling to reverse her decision to end the bestselling series with the seventh and final installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Hopefully, their endeavors will persuade her to continue the story. I love the Harry Potter books.

In our business, people always ask me for ideas. I try to stay current with the latest styles by attending seminars and clinics. I also read a ton of decorating magazines. I started a photo album that holds pictures of ideas. Home Remodeling is not a simple thing. A lot of planning should go into a project. I recommend that people not fall for the latest fashion trend but try to find what suits them and their lifestyle. The latest color now might be the color you detest five years from now. If you don't mind the mess of remodeling when you tire of your wild fuschia wallpaper, be as trendy as you care to be. Every individual has different tastes.

Last night, we attended a dinner that was a going away party for some friends. They are moving to Oklahoma. Howard spoke a bit and told us some fun things about Oklahoma. I didn't know that the state was a big producer of pecans. He told how most of the pecan trees in the area produced a pecan that is not what we eat today. As a young boy, he remembers peddlers going through the area. These peddlers were grafting another species of pecans. The graft made the new pecan produced a nut with a paper type wrapping around it. That made the shell easier to open and the nut was delicious. Cool!

We watched a nice movie last night. It was Miss Potter. I had no idea what it was about when we rented it. It was the story of Beatrix Potter. The children's book author and illustrator. It was a nice story and interesting how the stories she wrote seemed to come to her.
