Beige is pretty

My towels are beige. One of the things you have to overlook when you have people nice enough to come in and do your laundry is that they might not do things they way you do them. I am kinda picky about the color of pink towels that I buy for my bathroom. I like a soft pastel pink and have finally replaced all the odd colored towels with nice new pink ones. Well, someone must've thought a little bleach in the towel load would be nice and now they are the color of the beige in this blog. Sigh. I will get over it. Just a little sad about it....

Visit

My baby girl will be home tomorrow! I really enjoy when she is around. She is the most interesting and diversified person I know. She knows so much about different things. I love how she knows about wiring stereos in cars to what kind of eye shadow she likes. She is becoming quite a chef lately. She calls her Dad to ask about temperature and spices. I may need to go through my recipes and copy down her favorites. I should've done that for her birthday which is coming up on Tuesday January 2. She told her Dad that she is bringing her CG uniform with her to wear to church. OMG I will be crying!

Ford

I think President Ford was one of the most dignified presidents. He carried himself with honesty and straightforwardness. He had a tough job to make the presidential office worthy of the people's trust. The nation's spirit had been broken by lies from the previous administration and there were many wounds to heal. I think he was able to do that. His family was like the typical American family. Their interests were similar to the average family. Betty Ford was gracious and afforded many the possibility of substance abuse treatment without the stigma. Gerald Ford will be missed.

Melancholy at Christmas

When I was in my 20's people in their 50's seemed old to me. Is this what they mean when they say all things are relative? I am 50 and I don't feel that old. People in their 70's are dying and that makes me uncomfortable. Twenty years goes by fast and I don't want it to go by that fast! I am not afraid to dye because I know where I am going. I just love my life and want to experience a lot more things!

Last night we went to son's college's basket ball game. Go Butler. They beat Evansville. It was so much fun to watch. Those guys have great skill and play together as a team. That #4 cannot miss the basket!

I have admiration for those people who have to maneuver in wheelchairs. I praise and thank the Lord every day that I won't have to be in a wheelchair forever. The world is not set up to make it easy for the handicapped. The clothes racks in stores are put so close together that it is almost impossible to get through a store. The mall doors need buttons to push so the doors open automatically. There is no way I could get into a mall by myself. Trash cans are put in places that make it hard to reach towels when in a restroom. I won't even go into the rude people who think they can just cut in front of you because you can't get at them to bonk their heads. I was so protective of my feet hoping that no one would accidently bump them. Kids can't help if they aren't taught to be careful around the handicapped. This one little girl was constantly bopping around me in the restroom. I thought, for a moment, she was going to land in my lap. ai yi yi! I must say that the majority of people were very courteous. Opening doors, allowing me to go ahead etc. One teenager picked up a trash can in the restroom and held it so I could get by. There are nice people.

Need snow?

I can't get over how warm it is for being December. It is nice not to have to shiver as the car warms up. The brown grass leaves a little bit to be desired tho. I hope we at least get a blanket of snow to wake up to on Christmas morning.

Napkins

I made napkins from the material I had left from the table runner. I actually used the embroidery feature on my sewing machine! It was so much fun. I hadn't done it since I took a class at the fabric store so I wasn't sure about some things but it worked out.

Cars

We finally watched Cars last night. It felt funny to have four grownups sitting in a room watching an animated movie without kids present. LOL It was a great movie. Loved it. Loved the music. Happy weekend everyone!

Check out this site!

I just came across this great blog. It is an awesome site for shopping because this gal has already checked this stuff out so I don't have to. She is giving all kinds of links to great deals. In her Victoria' Secret deal she tells how she bought over $100 worth of items, and after adding all of the correct items and inputting the codes, it went down to $43.94. I am on it! Thanks Colleen. I will be a regular at checking out BuyMeBlog.com The thumbs down section will keep me from making mistakes about things that Colleen has already discovered to be poor quality or just plain a waste of my money. This description of the problem of the sheets came just in time. I think I probably would have steered clear of this ugly tree LOL but I appreciate the heads up! errrr I mean thumbs down. LOL

Click for Mammograms

I know we are all busy during this holiday season but please don't forget to click so that women who may not be able to afford them, can get mammograms. Thanks.

Table runner

My friend, Tina, has been coming over since my surgery in September. She has really been a big help. I am making a table runner for her. I might attempt napkins to go with it.

what to choose

I have always thought I wanted a laptop. Now I'm not sure. I am trying to check out Blackberries and such. It is all so confusing. I just want something small that I can do online stuff with.

Opinions are a good thing

I plan on rambling on about my opinions. These ramblings might be about music, food, or just about anything. What is your opinion?
