Blogger Improves Feed Function

Yay! I can now specify my blog's URL and Blogger will redirect my feed's traffic. This means I'll no longer have some subscribers getting my Blogger-hosted feed while others get my FeedBurner feed, and my subscriber count should (as a result) be more accurate.

To enable this functionality, visit your blog's Settings | Site Feed page, and enter your feed's address in the "Post Feed Redirect URL" field.

Petsitters Are Great!

I've been turning down invitations to go fishing with hubby. I love to fish so that is not the problem. My problem is that I hate to put my dogs in a kennel. Sittercity Petsitters is a better alternative. They would allow me to keep my dogs at home where they can be in familiar surroundings. I'm going to look into this service. My dogs would be happier, I would be happier and hubby would definitely be happier!

Press Release:

(Chicago, Ill.) - The weather's heating up, the kids are out of school and you're ready for some fun in the sun. But what about Fido -- what are you going to do with him while you're traveling? What might be a vacation for you may hardly be a vacation for your pet. For years, pet owners who didn't have friends or family around to care for their pet while on vacation would leave their furry loved ones at a kennel. Sittercity, America's first and largest online matchmaking site for parents and sitters for children and pets, offers a better alternative for your cuddly other child.

"Sittercity knows pets aren't just pets -- they are family members, and they deserve top quality care," said Genevieve Thiers, founder and CEO of Sittercity.com. "Through research, we've learned that allowing your pet to be cared for in the comfort of their own home while you're away is essential to ensuring not only minimal stress, but also less sickness for your pet."

Why choose a petsitter over boarding at a kennel? Petsitting provides so much more than just a place to sleep, a roof over Fido's head and daily water refills. From the pet's increased happiness and reduced health risks to your own priceless peace of mind, hiring a petsitter is a great way to care for your pet while you're away from the house.

Here are six reasons to choose petsitting over the kennel:

1. Less Stress: At home, pets avoid the stress of an unfamiliar environment and having to deal with barking and whining all day from other animals being boarded right next to them.
2. Kennel Cough-Free: Eliminates risk of catching diseases from boarding neighbors.
3. Convenient for You: You won't have to rush back into town to get to the vet's office in time to pick up your pet before being charged for another day, or having to leave your pet another night when you just missed closing time.
4. No More "No Vacancy" Signs: Kennels are overcrowded and it's often hard to find availability during holidays and busy seasons -- which are the busiest time for kennels.
5. More TLC: Pets get minimal exercise in a kennel, and kennel employees have very little one-on-one time with your pet. Petsitters devote the majority of each visit to the care and emotional well being of your pet.
6. Added Benefit – Home Security: Your home is protected and secure while you are away, thanks to the frequent visits by your petsitter and the fact that your animals are "guarding" the home.

Poor Oprah

Did you see the media make a big deal about Oprah Winfrey's dog dying? I love my dog's. I would be sick and depressed if something happened to my dog. I don't think it needs to be on the national news. If they don't want to talk about the war, they should find something happy to report on.

Remembering

I love the fact that my kids still enjoy going on vacation with us. When we picked Stacy up from boot camp a couple of years ago, we made some stops to make the trip fun. Well, we actually had to stop a few places because we were all crammed into our PT Cruiser. We had all of Stacy's things from boot camp, our suitcases, 3 laptops and all sorts of music paraphernalia. LOL Stopping had to be on the agenda.

We stopped in Pittsburgh to visit the Hard Rock cafe so Greg could add to his glass collection. While we were there, the kids found one of those old fashioned smash your penny machines where you turn the crank and it smashes your penny. The one they used produced an elongated coin that had an imprint of the skyline of Pittsburgh on it. It was fun and they each have their coin to remember their trip.

Dumb People

Do you ever wonder why there are so many dumb rules in our world? Do you wonder why there have to be stupid warnings on things? It is because some people don't think. I*f they do something and then hurt themselves, they think they should blame someone else. To protect themselves, companies have to post dumb rules and dumb warnings so that dumb people can't sue them. Isn't that a shame?

Choosing Wine

I admit to being interested in wine but don't understand all the things that make a good wine. I am so confused that I don't buy any wine.

I am so excited because I found my kind of wine review site! Wine Reviews at the website Redneckwinereview is the kind of reviewing I like. The name might be funny but in actuality, they provide a great service to people like me. I don't want to throw money down the drain when picking out wine. I don't read the type of magazines that have wine reviews given by professionally trained reviewers. The writer of Redneck Wine Review admits that there are much better wine reviewers out there than him. I like his honesty. That is why I trust what he tells me about what makes a good wine.

I enjoy drinking wine when I visit friend's homes but I don't know how to go about choosing wine for myself. I like a bit of white wine with dinner but I don't want a bitter wine. How do I know what to choose? Redneck is helping me learn how to pick a wine that I can enjoy and even goes as far as talking about the price differences in wine. If you want to know what a down to earth reviewer thinks of a wine, check out Redneck Wine Review.

Information for Health

I kept thinking about the post I did for that great site that dealt with frozen shoulder conditions. I wondered about the condition and so I looked it up on Web MD.
Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is stiffness, pain, and limited range of movement in your shoulder that may follow an injury. The tissues around the joint stiffen, scar tissue forms, and shoulder movements become difficult and painful. I am glad that there is help for people suffering with the condition.

Frozen Shoulder

I was looking at some online pictures that a friend shared. She showed pictures of the cutest little guy sitting in his stroller. He was sound asleep and his head was cocked in such an unusual position that I thought that surely he must be uncomfortable. She said that every time they adjusted his head, he would get back into the same position! Ai yi yi! I wonder if he had a stiff neck when he awoke.

There is a condition that many adults suffer with called frozen shoulder. They could never sit like that little boy. There is research on frozen shoulder surgery, treatments frozen shoulder and what causes frozen shoulder. If you know of anyone suffering with this condition, please check out the website at www.frozenshoulder.com. They offer help and solutions for people suffering from this condition. When we were tiny, we could suffer through and get better. As adults we need information on how to get better. Frozen shoulder is something that doesn't usually go away on its own.

HP

From Cnn online:
The ending has come for Harry Potter. At 12:01 a.m. Saturday, the last of the Potter series' seven books, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be released -- and all will be revealed. Well, at least the stuff fans want to know.

Greg is going to a bookstore that is having a party until midnight. At midnight the last Harry Potter book will be out. I'll bet that will be a crazy and fun place to be. It will be past my bedtime so I'll just have to ask Greg how he liked it. I'm not staying awake for a book unless Brad Pitt is there to sign the cover. LOL

Ask Jud

There is a fun site that I am having a good time with. It enables me to tell the future! Have you ever heard of ask peter? Well, this site is called Ask Jud. It is amazing what you can find on the internet. Check out Ask Jud and have fun with your friends! They will think you are so smart. The instructions say to have fun with your friends for hours. I am not ever telling my friends how I did this stuff! They think I am so smart. LOL

Breaded Tenderloin Season

This week is our town's festival time. There are food booths everywhere. Our local Lion's Club is known for it's wonderful breaded tenderloins. Hubby and I ate one for lunch. I am ready to go back there for supper! I had never heard of Tenderloins until I moved to Indiana. Are they relative to our state?

Stay in Shape and Date

I think it is great to find someone to date who is interested in what you like. What is the point in seeing someone who doesn't like anything that you like? There are so many niche type dating services available that you should be able to find someone who loves to do the things you love. You can even go on fitness dates with a guy or gal who is interested in keeping their body in good condition. Fitness dating is just like movie dating. Movie dating is when two people go to see a movie together. Fitness dating is when two people work out together. It takes time to work out so why not use that time to meet someone special. At Fitnessdates.com you will find someone to date who is willing to put forth the effort to be in shape. They will be interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle so you won't have to worry about the types of restaurants and other activities that might get in the way of living healthy. This is so good. No mind games about staying fit!

Getting Out

Stacy, our daughter, has been wanting us to go to the movie theater to see Transformers. She thinks her dad would really enjoy it. It has cool cars in it. I thought I'd suggest that we go tonite and wouldn't you know it, he has to work.

You CAN Sell on the Internet

I shop online all the time. I love the convenience of choosing and comparing products on my own time. I like being able to compare prices without someone waiting for me to answer. I can wear my pajamas while shopping.

Not everyone shops online! That's a shocker, I know. StoresOnlineInc.com is doing its part to make the ecommerce experience a common experience for everyone. They are offering training and seminars to those who want to use the Internet to peddle their wares but don't know where to begin.

There is a great potential of earning power waiting for the entrepreneur who sells online. StoresOnlineInc.com is helping them tap into that potential.

Seminar

Mom and I attended an embroidery seminar yesterday. We don't do machine embroidery but the seminar gave us some great tips for sewing. We make quilts and hand quilt them. One idea we got was how to use a device to keep our thread from tangling. We learned some new things yesterday.

How to Get Good Renters

In our business we sell to landlords. Many of these landlords are complaining because their renters don't treat their homes very well. After they move, the landlords find out all the damage that has been done to their home and have to make repairs. They don't want to buy high quality merchandise for fear it will be torn up. I can't blame them. I was a good renter. I would have been embarrassed to leave a home that I rented in bad condition. A place that I had rented was usually in better shape after I moved out. That's just the way I do things.

The best way to get nice tenants is to use a quality service that finds good renters. Rentals.com is a wonderful site to use to get renters who will treat your property well. Rentals.com also has ways to help you increase the visibility of your property so that potential renters know about your property. Their forms get information from potential renters that you might forget to ask. They are experienced in the renting plan so they know the ins and outs of how to get good renters. Let them guide you and be of service to you.
