Free Web Hosting

Wow! This is something you don't hear of. Easy CGI is offering a super summer blowout. 1 full year of free web hosting. I am one who checks things out because I hate ending up stuck with something that doesn't work like I want. I know it sounds too good to be true so let's check it out.

I am at the website and I see that they offer access to some of the Internet's commonly used tools such as DotNetNuke, OSCommerce, and Community Server. That is all good. Let's check out their customer service. Ok, it says they are available 24/7. Oh! A Live Chat box popped up and wanted to know if I needed help. Wow!

They have 3 packages to choose from so that means I will fit in there somewhere. The more bandwidth needed the more specialty package you need to pick. They even offer Web traffic reports. The tutorials look easy to follow. They offer their One Step Script Installation Tool to install some the Internet's most popular applications. That about covers it. Reliability, speed, program with enough space and customer service if I get stuck.

It looks like they want customers! Check it out and get in on this great deal before they realize what they are doing and put an end to it!

Let's let everyone know about this and give it a DiGG!

A Great Irishman

Aw. I just read where Tommy Makem died. He was of the Irish group,The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. He wrote beautiful ballads that gripped everyone who listened. Armed with his banjo, tinwhistle, poetry, stagecraft and his baritone voice, Makem helped spread stories and songs of Irish culture around the world. He will be missed.

American Made Quality

I love to find manufacturing companies who are proud of what they do. Grizzly Manufacturing has produced the best engineered class sprockets for over 20 years. That is because they take pride in their product. Their customers know that when they buy from Grizzly, they will receive a quality sprocket or engineering chain. It is good to find an American company that has maintained a quality reputation.

Where Is It Manufactured?

There is an interesting article on CNN online. It is about a woman who is trying to buy everything in the US. I admire her. She has found it to be a difficult process. Groceries are especially difficult get a source location. It seems as though everything she went to buy was from China.

Scrap Happy Day

Today was a productive day. I picked out a new pair of glasses and then went to the hairdresser's shop and had my hair trimmed.

I went to the Scrapshack and finished hubby's fishing scrapbook. I had a few pictures left from his last fishing trip that needed put into the album and journaled. I'll try to get pictures put up so you can see the little copper fish I made. He was pleased with how the pages looked.

Bridge Collapse

It is a sad day and I pray for everyone involved in the horrible bridge collapse in Minnesota. I cannot imagine the devastation and heartache being felt in that area. I am thankful for all the good citizens who are trying to help. I pray for strength and good judgment for all the health workers as they attempt to do their best for each individual. I pray that those who have been hurt will find healing. I pray for the families of the loved ones who were killed in this freakish accident.

Must Get Back to the Caribbean

It has been a long time since hubby and I went to the Caribbean. I wish I had known about Caribbean Guide then because I think we would have had even more fun with the information I've been finding at their website. We had a great time on our trip while basking in the sun and eating the wonderful food. Now, I see that there are many things we should have checked out that we didn't know existed.

Everyone I know is aware of the beautiful black and pink sand that is on the beaches of the Caribbean. The water with its crystal blue transparency is what makes diving in the area the best in the world. I was very happy just staying on the beach and in the water during our trip.

There is more to the Caribbean. The islands each offer their own unique wildlife and beautiful plants for travelers who spend a bit of time inland. If I could go back, I would search out the trails and discover all the nature of the islands. The natural beauty is something that I'm sure I would enjoy.

The architecture and history of the islands would be of great interest to hubby. With sights ranging from British naval yards to Spanish cathedrals, and forts on many of the islands, those interested in colonial history will certainly find something fascinating to search out.

The culture of the native tribes who made their homes on the island would be very interesting to check out. Their influences can be found in everything from island names to important ruins, like the Mayan ruins in Mexico.

There is quite a bit more to the Caribbean than we explored. We will have to go back.

Ingmar Bergman

Ingmar Bergman passes away on July 30, 2007. He was a Swedish stage and film director. He is grouped with many greats and is considered one of the artistic masters of modern cinema.

Most of his films were set in the landscape of his native Sweden. The themes were often bleak, dealing with illness and insanity.

Bergman was active for more than 60 years, but his career was seriously threatened in 1976 when he suspended a number pending productions, closed his studios and went into self imposed exile for five years, following a botched criminal investigation for alleged income tax evasion.

He led a very interesting life. He claimed 9 children and was married 5 times.

Kids Take On Lunch Lady--and win

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Even someone who believes you can fight city hall might think twice before taking on the lunch lady. But some second-graders who raised their voices over reheated frozen green beans are being rewarded with tastier vegetables.

Pupils are beginning to speak up about the quality of food at school cafeterias.

The menu at William V. Wright Elementary School is getting a makeover after Constantine Christopulos' class went on a poignantly polite letter-writing campaign aiming to see less of that particular vegetable in the cafeteria.

"A little boy said, `Anything, anything, I'll even eat broccoli,"' said Connie Duits, the lunch lady. "So that one touched my heart."

The children were careful to offer praise as they expressed their concerns.

"Dear Mrs. Duits, The food is so yummy and yummy. But there are one proplem. It is the green beans," wrote Zhong Lei.

"We love the rest but we hate the green beans," wrote Viviann Palacios.

The Las Vegas students undertook the exercise in mini-democracy after the class read a book called "Frindle," in which a boy contemplates organizing a boycott of the cafeteria.

"I asked the kids, 'Is that a respectful way of doing it?"' Christopulos said. "And they said, 'Oh, not at all."'

As a result of the students' campaign, the food service department of the Clark County School District sent staff to the school to see what alternatives they preferred.

With a handful of reporters watching, two dozen students sat down Monday to a veritable salad bar of cooked, frozen and canned vegetables, from baby corn to cherry tomatoes, and filled out a survey.

Because of cost restrictions, the children's only real choices were between canned and frozen green beans, corn, cooked or raw carrots and cooked or cold peas.

Corn and carrots were popular; cooked peas, not so much.

"The cooked peas, it's warm and all, but inside of it, it's all soft and stuff and I don't like it," said MacKenzie Rangel.

Brenden Lucas said he liked the raw carrots, "Because it's hard and crunchy."

Some children got downright prolific when asked to write what other foods they would like for lunch or breakfast. Viviann requested "stake" and lobster, while Logan Strong wanted "chocolate filled panda cookies" and "chicken cordon blue."

While not all the requests would be accepted -- and green beans would still occasionally be served -- district supervisor Sue Hoggan said the survey will help district dietitians "tweak" the menu.

"They were so excited to get a response back," Christopulos said. "I taught them the pen is mightier than the sword, and hopefully they remember that forever."

Pow Your Fired

I hope Donald Trump never feels stress like the employer in Atlanta, Georgia. He was feeling financial woes and after two employees began pestering him for a raise, he shot them. No employees, no raises. Oh my goodness. I think that man needed counseling.

Doctors Learn How to Be Better

While standing outside the license bureau this morning I listened to several ladies as we all waited for the doors to open. These ladies were talking about the health care they received. One lady was standing with support hose on her legs and a brace supporting her neck. She had suffered a stroke. She felt like she didn't get good treatment from our local hospital. The doctors and nurses were so busy that she wasn't attended to immediately. Perhaps she would have had a better outcome if she hadn't been made to wait. She won't ever know what could have been. She only knows the agony of therapy she goes through everyday to try and get back her mobility.

BizRx, a new service at www.med3q.com that launches today, addresses common points of pain faced by busy doctors in the areas of business, practice management, patient relations, personal finance and much more. Some of our best doctors are not good business managers. BizRx addresses that issue. By watching short podcast, they can learn valuable information that is easy to implement in their practice. It is free for the taking! This program is going to be talked about in all the doctor circles. That is because it is going to change things.

We, as patients will all benefit from doctors who learn from professionals who can only help them improve how they run their practices. These podcasts are short. That gives the busy doctor a lot of information in a short amount of time. The first interview is with Linda Mounce of Alliance Bank who specializes in doctor deals. Future interviews will be with experts on surviving medical malpractice suits, succession planning for a doctor’s practice, the development and operation of physician-owned outpatient surgery centers – and much more. The time has come for changes to be made.
