Antonella Barba cannot sing! Why is she still on American Idol? I cringe when she is off key, which she is most of the time. Good thing she has controversy on her side because maybe she will get some modeling jobs from the gossip. Melinda is the star. Her version of Funny Valentine was so awesome. She has talent. Wow, that show was over quickly last night!

I finally figured out who sings one of my favorite songs, Black Horse and The Cherry Tree. It is KT Tunstall a new songwriter whose gravely voice reminds me of Carol King and Stevie Nicks. Add a little Janis Joplin raunchiness and you have her sound. Picture sitting in a smokey bar with a pool table and this skinny girl is strumming her guitar and singing songs from her soul. My favorite song is an upbeat story and makes me want to sing along with it. Now I have the CD so I can! She grew up in St. Andrew's beautiful countryside. Knowing she was adopted at birth gave her the insight of knowing that she could have led quite a different life that the sheltered one she enjoyed. Her intensity shines through the lyrics in each of her songs which she sings with her life inspired wisdom. Describing her inquiring imagination, she explains, "My songs examine and explore little specific emotions or situations or stories. They're kitchen table songs, like a conversation between me and one other person. It's almost like an alien has been sent to get emotional samples from human beings and put it all together on a record." Her CD joins my Cheryl Crowe, Fleetwood Mac and Carrie Underwood compilations. Julie has been talking about how March 24th will be Shutdown Day. It is supposed to be the biggest global experiment ever to take place on the internet. The idea behind the experiment is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, March 24th, and what will happen if we all participate! It just makes me shake thinking about it! Go without internet? Not me!

We sold our beloved motorcycle a few months ago. We had riden it everywhere. I knew we would miss it but we think we would like a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. We had a Softail and it was becoming more and more uncomfortable for me. I guess I need a recliner on the back. LOL I wish we could afford two of them because I loved the looks of our white with red striping bike. It had the fringed saddlebags and saddle seat. Sheesh, I miss that bike.

If you had a chance to have plastic surgery would you do it? I think I would. I would opt for liposuction. I would be afraid because I have heard where people have died during the proceedure. I hope those were isolated incidents. I think I could look so much better without all this excess baggage. I don't think it will ever happen though because of the cost. I think I'd rather take a nice vacation!

I am so glad I work from home. Many have gone into the ditch trying to get to work. A snow emergency has been declared which means you can be ticketed for being out driving unless you are going to work or have an emergency. I don't think I'll be going to my allergist appointment today.

Hubby and I don't exchange valentines. One year we forgot to buy each other one and he said, um I'll be back in a minute. While he was gone I decided to run to the drugstore to buy him a card. We looked across the top of the card aisle and saw each other. We laughed showed each other the card we would have bought and put it back. Saved around $6.00 and have laughed about it ever since.
